Food!

We have been having a lot of fun with food around here! Ike will taste pretty much anything and is a pretty good eater. He loves fruit, kiwi is a big hit. He also enjoys sweet potatoes and loves to gum on tortillas. He likes peanut butter toast and last night we mashed up banana with quinoa and cinnamon and smeared that on toast-very well received. We are letting him hold a lot of food and feed himself to the best of his ability so he can discover different feels, tastes, and textures. Fun times with food around here :)

Ikey has amazing hair. It goes where it wants, when it wants and will stay in whatever crazy style it's chosen all day. No amount of brushing will tame this wave!

Summer in Spring

We are experiencing some uncharacteristic weather here in Portland, sunny clear skies and toasty warm in May! It is lovely. Today was 82 and breezy, and it looks like the warm weather is here to stay (yippee!). For reference, last year on Cinco de Mayo we went to the Kennedy School for lunch, and sat shivering next to an outdoor fireplace. This is better :) So to celebrate we busted out our $2 off season Goodwill purchase--such a steal! (The suit's not bad either!)

6 months!

Ikey is 6 months old, how did that happen?! I just had my birthday and my parents are probably thinking "Sarah is 34 years old, how did that happen?!" Children definitely put your life into a time warp, it's crazy how quickly we got here. We took Ike for his 6 month pediatrician visit this morning, he weighs in at 20 lbs 6 oz and 29 3/4" long, continuing his arch off of the heights chart. Here's a picture of him helping Dr. Russak listen to his heart :)
