I started hearing a buzz about "Messy Madness" from other Portland mommas, so when I saw tickets for sale, I pounced. Messy? And art? Yes, please!! And it was something else.The basic idea: put down a tarp, strip down your baby, and place many colorful globs of (non-toxic, don't worry) paint along the tarp. At some point also introduce shaving cream, and glitter (not such a good idea, really. We'll never see the end of the glitter). What a wonderful and incredible mess!! It took Ike a couple minutes and a few tastes to figure out just what was going on, and then he went for it. So much giggling, lots of babbling, and at the end he really was the messiest baby there. It was an extremely fun, stimulating, and exhausting way to spend a Sunday morning. Now to recreate it in my own backyard and you'll know where to find us on the weekends!
